‘The Mind, explained’

For the second season of Explained, I reunited with Vox Media and Netflix, this time leading design and animation on the spin-off miniseries The Mind, Explained while also contributing animation to the main series.

Working alongside Yuval Haker, I helped shape a focused, minimalist world built largely in black and white, with spot color used sparingly to guide the viewer’s attention to key moments. The series called for a substantial amount of hand-drawn animation woven together with motion graphics, which made it one of the most rewarding challenges of my animation work.

In 2020 ‘The Mind, explained’ was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding graphic design and art direction.‍
