Built as a lesson plan accessory for schools, Wild Guardians is a 3 episode short series for Mongabay kids that aims to tell stories about kids around the world making a difference in their local ecosystems and the animals they’re helping.

For this project I worked with the team at Mongabay kids to conceptualize, design, and animate this three episode series, as well as build a small gfx toolkit for the editing team.
Originally concepted as a fully illustrated approach, we eventually landed on a direction that mixes illustration with bright and playful collage that would appeal to middle school viewers. This collage approach is further brought to life with a good bit of puppet rigging with Duik and 3D Camera work in After Effects.
